Housing Community Creator
Accelerator Programme & Mastermind
Creating Housing in Service to Life
For those who see housing as a means for regenerative place-making,
for creating places to live that honour relationship and connection
to people and the larger web of existence
Do you hold the flame of a great housing, community, or neighbourhood development project that is bold and ambitious—envisioning a housing solution that would make a positive difference in the lives of others, our society, and the planet?
Would you like to join other visionaries and community creators in a guided and curated group programme to go on this journey together?
To be able to unlock your project’s potential, gain from group wisdom and accountability, feel supported and encouraged, connect with sector experts, and gain traction?
Many have come before you and failed, got burned out, priced out, too frustrated and overwhelmed. Without the right processes and support system, the chances of success are slim.
Are you meeting with resistance to your project or finding the challenges quite vast, the decisions momentous, the status-quo difficult to deal with, the unknowns a bit overwhelming?
With support and guidance, your housing and community vision can become a reality to provide a greater quality of life for many people now and into the future, to be that place where people and the planet flourish, and that creates a model for others to learn from.
Common Ground wants every housing project
creator to succeed and thrive
We need more innovative, connected living and affordable housing solutions that are in service to life and offer better places to live.
That’s why, based on years of working in this sector with those seeking and creating housing communities and knowing what is needed to move the needle forward, we have designed this Housing Community Creator Accelerator Programme & Mastermind.
We are offering a six-month group programme to support and enable community-focused housing project creators to succeed at creating the
housing communities they envision while exploring and increasing the project’s regenerative potential.
We will be holding a few information Q&A sessions over the next few weeks.
The problems this programme seeks to address for novice community developers/collective housing creators are:
Feeling alone or isolated on this big mission
A bit confused by the financial, legal, and development processes and finding the right sympathetic allies willing to work on a “risky” project
Attracting the right residents, key stakeholders and investors
Knowing that advocacy is needed for collective, community-led and non-speculative housing but feeling overwhelmed or too insignificant to do advocacy on one’s own.
Struggling to achieve affordability when costs are so high for experts, materials, consenting and land
Benefits to programme participants include
A strong network and community of practice with others on the same/similar path
Create clarity on the processes involved with housing and settlement development
Ways to present and communicate the project idea with other stakeholders
Peer wisdom, support, and inspiration
Exploring regenerative potential, such as the positive impact on the social, ecological and economic part of the wider community
Ability to learn from and interact with experts in the development sector who come from a permaculture or regenerative background
Reduce the time, frustration, and confusion in being a novice developer
A one-stop-shop with an easy-to-use online portal for the knowledge, resources, and connections of the programme
An in-person event, location and time TBA
Cost savings by getting the right information to make better informed decisions and reduced cost of services.
Who this programme is created to serve:
Innovative housing & intentional community visionaries stepping into collective housing & community development
Those wishing to live in collective housing who want to make it happen for themselves
Landowners who want to develop a community on their land,
Members of a group exploring housing options
Not-for-profit organisation staff looking into creating community-focused housing for their beneficiaries/clients
What kinds of housing that programme participants might be creating
The programme would include:
Curated presentations and workshops by local practitioners and experts in their field of housing development, catered to participant needs & interests
A facilitated group sharing &
discussion forum meeting regularly
Facilitated group resourcing "hot seat" for each participant and their project
One-to-one coaching time for
each leader’s specific project
Optional coaching or meetings
with a specific experts
Accountability mechanisms,
progress on goals, systems of reflection
The programme will run through the Common Ground membership platform making it easy to find all the
resources and communications in one place, customised for the programme.

The Importance of Networking & Masterminding
What they say about Zola
Zola, you helped me be clearer on setting my goals, you keep me accountable, you help me with your connections and liaising with people, you helped me wording some of my presentation to council.
You communicate clearly, you are punctual and very organised, which helps me stay on track.
You have opened a whole new world around the regenerative principles, even though I find it sometimes overwhelming as it touches on so many aspects and finding practical ways to put these principles in action is not easy.

The warmth and connection she brings with her communication and energy!
Easy communication, great to collaborate with, ability to think outside the box and come up with interesting and effective solutions.
Carol Sumner
Retreat participant
Zola is very structured and organised.
I enjoyed her energy and tenacity to make all facets of the retreat work for all.
With her open heart, Zola consciously ensures there is always space in her events for fluidity.
This is a skill and a talent that was much appreciated by the group.
Thalea Tane

and retreat participant
Zola is very skilled at creating an inviting space and encouraging people to share and listen to each other.
From her previous experiences, she has a huge range of tools and activities that she used to give structure to our time together.
She balanced the need for open sharing with time for more structured content very well.
Zola is very solutions focused.
She contributes generously and encourages others to do the same. She is very experienced in this work, so she brings depth and resilience to it.
